Habilitation
The habilitation process gives qualified young scientists the opportunity to qualify for a professorship and to independently perform research and teaching tasks for this purpose. More detailed information is available from the departments.
Habilitation procedure
I. Application for teaching qualification
- Submission of application to the dean's office
- Approval by the faculty council and subsequent announcement
- Agreement on objectives between candidate and subject mentors (PDF to the dean's office)
- After approx. 2 years: Interim evaluation (PDF to the Dean's Office)
- After approx. 4 years: Submission of habilitation thesis to the Dean's Office
- Obtaining expert opinions; approval by the faculty council
- Scientific discussion
- Preparation of laudatio by subject mentors, approval by the faculty council
II. Application for teaching authorization
After receiving the teaching qualification certificate, an application for teaching authorization can be submitted, which entitles the holder to use the title PD.
The following must be submitted:
- Personnel questionnaire (Dean's Office)
- Declaration of loyalty to the constitution (Dean's Office)
- Curriculum vitae
- Certificates of (1) university degree, (2) doctorate, (3) teaching qualification
- Proof of current full-time employment
